I can hardly believe it. It’s December 6th, and I’m done with my Christmas shopping.
Every year, I get mauled and nearly killed at the stores, as I hustle around trying to get our holiday gift list checked off. I decided I wasn’t having any of that this year (I can’t even walk out of Costco on a weekend without feeling beat), so Mike and I set out to buy as many gifts online as possible. Paying shipping fees isn’t even a problem since we generally end up having to standing in line at the post office to ship half of our presents to loved ones. Generally, we spread the shopping out over the month of December, so inevitably, our anxiety level increases as the month moves on and the crowds grow more frenetic.
So what happened this year? I was more annoying than usual in getting Mike to think up a list of ideas for his family members, AND I started nagging at an earlier date. Combine that with just a stroke of dumb luck that we found reasonable prices online, and here you find us with all of our gifts ordered or in-transit in just the first week of December. Aaah, now I can sit back and enjoy my hot cocoa…at least until we have to go through the ordeal of holiday travel back to the midwest!
Yeah, but the lines on those online sites were brutal. I hear one lady sprained a finger trying to click fast enough to buy a Nintendo Wii.
